Naturist implies you are clothes-free afficionados.
Lone individuals or textiled "gawkers" are not allowed

Tips
The problem is getting here. Xcalak is very remote - unless you are already staying in the
community it's a long way to travel for just day use.  If you are staying in one of the big
All-Inclusive resorts on the Mayan Riviera it really isn't practical to drive so far for such a
short visit (3 hour drive from Tulum, 4 hrs from Playa del Carmen).  But occasionally
we areasked by Nudists who are sailing on a cruise ship if they can visit for the day when
their ship calls at the Costa Maya Port in Mahahual.

Playa Sonrisa is located a bit over 1 hour drive time south of the port.  You will have to
hire a taxi for a round trip and negotiate for the driver to stand by for your return so you do
not risk missing your sailing time.  Depending on your negotiating skills this should run about
$80 US, round trip.  (Tip - don't pay the cabbie until you get back to port - on time!)
Apparently the cost / benefit compare favorably to other shore excursion options since in
spite of the distance we do get a few couples every season who choose to make the trip.

But be forewarned - a day spent a natural in such a tranquil paradise will make it
very difficult to return to the ship ...and clothes!

Important:  please let us know in advance if you are planning to come visit on a
particular date to be sure we will actually be open and have cold beverages ready.
